Writing a One-Page Business Plan

A business plan doesn’t need to be long to be useful — what actually belongs on one page.

A useful business plan answers a handful of questions clearly: what you’re offering, who it’s for, how you’ll reach them, what it costs to run, and how you’ll make money. Skip the 40-page document unless you’re seeking outside investment that specifically requires one — for most new businesses, a one-page plan you’ll actually revisit and update is far more useful than a long one that gets written once and forgotten.
